Dr Sherell Calame is a UK-trained Clinical Psychologist who completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Leeds. With over 10 years’ experience across NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and private practice, she supports children, young people, adults and families with a wide range of mental health, neurodevelopmental and trauma-related needs. She adopts a neuroaffirmative, strengths-based approach, creating safe, collaborative and accessible therapeutic relationships that recognise and value individual differences.
Dr Calame has held senior clinical roles within NHS CAMHS neurodevelopmental services, specialising in Autism assessments, ADHD assessments and cognitive assessments. She is trained in gold-standard diagnostic tools including the Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised (ADI-R) and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2). Alongside her specialist assessment work, she has extensive experience supporting individuals affected by trauma, attachment difficulties, psychosis and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
Her therapeutic practice integrates EMDR, CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Theraplay and trauma-informed approaches. She works closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to support meaningful and lasting change.
