Alyson is a Canadian and UK-trained Speech and Language Therapist with a Master’s degree in Speech and Language Sciences from University College London. She specialises in supporting school-aged children with Developmental Language Disorder and works with children presenting with language delay and speech sound difficulties, including those who are non-speaking or minimally speaking. She also has experience implementing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to clients with a total communication approach.
Alyson’s clinical practice is grounded in a neuro-affirming, strengths-based philosophy. With specialist training in communication therapy, she tailors intervention to each child’s individual communication profile, valuing connection, understanding, and meaningful progress over rigid targets.
Collaboration is central to Alyson’s work. She works closely with parents, families, and teachers to ensure support is consistent across home and school environments, and that adults feel confident in supporting a child’s communication development. She prioritises creating supportive, welcoming spaces where children feel valued and confident to develop their communication skills.
