Excellent English Communication – A very high standard of English is essential for this role.
Candidates must be able to:
• Speak English clearly, confidently and professionally.
• Listen carefully and accurately understand information provided by clients, families and Clinicians.
• Communicate sensitively with people who may be anxious, distressed, overwhelmed or unsure about the support they need.
• Write clear, accurate and professional emails, WhatsApp messages, appointment confirmations and internal notes.
• Accurately record names, contact details, appointment information and client concerns.
• Explain services, fees, appointment processes and administrative requirements in a clear and accessible manner.
• Adapt their communication style when speaking with children, adults, parents, Neurodivergent clients and clients experiencing mental health difficulties.
• Additional language skills are welcomed but do not replace the requirement for excellent spoken, written and listening skills in English.
Client Care and Empathy
Candidates should demonstrate:
• A genuine interest in supporting children, adults and families.
• An understanding that clients contacting a psychology service may feel vulnerable, anxious or uncertain.
• A respectful and non-judgemental communication style.
• Patience, empathy and emotional maturity.
• An interest in supporting Neurodivergent clients and clients with mental health needs.
• The ability to remain calm and professional during sensitive or challenging conversations.
• Respect for client privacy, confidentiality and dignity.
Organisation and Attention to Detail
Candidates should have:
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to manage multiple appointments, enquiries and administrative tasks.
• The ability to follow established procedures accurately.
• Good judgement when prioritising urgent enquiries or escalating concerns.
• Reliability and consistency when completing follow-up tasks.
Professionalism and Teamwork
Candidates should be able to:
• Present themselves professionally as a representative of Insights Psychology.
• Work collaboratively with Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Counsellors and administrative colleagues.
• Communicate respectfully with clients, colleagues and external organisations.
• Receive feedback positively and apply it to their work.
• Adapt to a busy and fast-paced clinic or Call Centre environment.
• Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive and well-organised service.
