Psychological Therapies

Supporting Growth, Healing, and Connection

At Insights Psychology, we believe therapy is a journey of understanding, healing, and growth. Our team of compassionate clinicians provides a safe and affirming space for individuals, couples, and families to explore their experiences, build resilience, and discover new ways of relating to themselves and others.

We offer a range of evidence-based therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and adults, designed to meet each person or family where they are. Our approach is guided by empathy, curiosity, and respect for neurodiversity and individual differences.

Individual Therapy for Adolescents and Adults

Individual Therapy for Adolescents and Adults

Individual therapy offers a supportive and confidential space to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences that may be impacting wellbeing.

During the initial sessions, the focus is on building trust and rapport, ensuring you feel comfortable and understood. Your clinician will work collaboratively with you to clarify your goals and recommend the therapeutic approach that best suits your needs — whether that’s cognitive-behavioural, acceptance-based, psychodynamic, or integrative therapy.

Sessions are typically held on a weekly basis, with progress reviewed regularly. Therapy continues until you and your clinician agree that your goals have been met or that discharge, or a new phase of care feels appropriate.

Therapy for Children and Adolescents

Therapy for Children and Adolescents

Children and young people often express themselves in ways that go beyond words — through play, creativity, and behaviour. At Insights, we use play therapy and creative interventions to help children process emotions, build coping skills, and develop confidence in a developmentally appropriate way.

Therapy begins with an initial parent session to discuss concerns, history, and goals for treatment. This helps the clinician develop a shared understanding of the child’s needs and design a supportive plan.

While children and adolescents attend their own sessions, parents are often included at key points to discuss progress or strategies. In some cases, complementary parenting sessions may also be offered to strengthen support at home.

Family Therapy

Family Therapy

Families function as interconnected systems — when one person is struggling, the whole family can feel it. Family therapy helps improve communication, reduce conflict, and rebuild trust within the family unit. Typically, parents attend the first session to identify key concerns and outline shared goals. Once these are established, other family members may be invited to join subsequent sessions as appropriate. The process supports families to better understand one another and develop healthier patterns of interaction and connection.

Couples Therapy

Couples Therapy

Relationships can face many challenges — from communication difficulties to life transitions, stress, or unresolved conflicts. Couples therapy provides a structured and supportive environment to help partners understand each other’s perspectives, strengthen emotional connection, and develop practical tools for relationship wellbeing.

Couples usually attend the first session together to discuss goals and explore the dynamics of their relationship. Where appropriate, individual sessions for each partner may also be recommended to support deeper insight and progress.

Group Therapy

Group Therapy

Group therapy offers a powerful way to connect with others who share similar experiences. Led by our experienced clinicians, these sessions provide a supportive and structured space to learn new skills, build confidence, and gain perspective from others’ journeys.

Group sessions may focus on themes such as stress management, emotional regulation, social connection, or neurodiversity support. Many clients find that participating in a group helps them feel less alone and more empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.
