The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training and development programs for employees within the Universities of Wisconsin. This position will develop and deliver in-person, virtual and asynchronous learning. Collaborate with various departments to identify training needs, develop content, deliver training, and assess the effectiveness of the training programs. This role requires strong instructional design skills and excellent communication abilities.
Develop and write objectives for learning and ensure they are aligned with business documentation and end-user business processes
Facilitate professional development courses including activities and guides learning to align with existing curriculum
Work with subject matter experts to develop content, prepare and update specialized instructional materials and assessment tools to align with unit objectives and strategy
Conduct needs assessments and evaluations to support ongoing development and improvement of learning experiences for customers
Review and analyze course evaluation data and determine appropriate action to incorporate feedback
Measures participant performance and progress utilizing assessment tools to align with established mission and philosophy
Serves as a subject matter expert, point of contact, and communicates with program affiliates, audiences, and stakeholders providing information and guidance on adult learning materials and standards

The Instructional Designer (Official Job Title: Training & Organizational Development Specialist II ) is a full-time, salaried (exempt), academic staff, position. Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary within a range of $70,000. - $81,885 . commensurate with the candidate’s education, related experience, and qualifications.
Work Location
The office location is located at 660 West Washington, Madison, WI. An in-office requirement is expected three (3) days per week and two days may be worked off-site/remote. Telecommuting agreements are subject to change at any time.
