Category Manager
We are seeking a results-driven Category Manager to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and optimize supply chain performance across assigned categories. This role is pivotal in driving cost efficiencies, enhancing supplier relationships, and ensuring a resilient and agile supply chain. The Category Manager will collaborate cross-functionally to maximize cost savings, improve inventory value, and align sourcing strategies with overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead multi-site, cross-functional teams to develop and implement spend management strategies.
Monitor market trends, supply chain capabilities, and industry developments to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
Select, develop, and manage suppliers to achieve cost, quality, and performance targets.
Drive supplier negotiations and contract management to optimize total cost of ownership.
Foster collaboration with key stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure supply continuity and operational excellence.
Conduct supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans.
Support lean initiatives and integrate continuous improvement across the supply base.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or Mechanical Engineering preferred. APICS CPIM/CSCP certification is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment with expertise in:
New product development
Contract negotiation and supplier management
Cost reduction and value engineering initiatives
Cross-functional project leadership
Supplier consolidation and international sourcing
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience with ERP/MRP systems
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
